Welcome to Texas State School, the most southerly Prep to Yr10 school in Queensland.
Situated in the Goondiwindi Regional Shire, on the Queensland/NSW Border our school draws students from the town of Texas and the surrounding rural areas. Due to our location as a border town, we have a significant number of students who come from NSW.
Texas State School was established in 1887 and has a long tradition of providing a quality education in a supportive, caring and stimulating environment.
Our school expectations: Be Safe, Be Supportive, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be an Active Learner are our key values as outlined in our Code of Behaviour which is displayed in every classroom and throughout the school.
As a Prep -Y10 Campus, our school has a wide range of facilities that are used by all sectors of the school including an Industrial Arts Centre, Home Economics Kitchen, Art Room and Science Laboratory. We have excellent sporting facilities and the Texas Sports Complex is located adjacent to the school.
Texas State School has a blend of experienced and newly appointed teachers and support staff. They are all actively engaged in the extra curricula program as well as professional development. A number of staff members are on district and regional committees.
Our school, with the support of the Parents’ and Citizen’s Association has adopted a Student Dress Code and all students are expected to wear the attractive and practical uniform with pride each day. Parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged at Texas State School.
